These Terms of Service govern access to and use of Trailworld. By creating an account, browsing the platform, or publishing content on Trailworld, you agree to these terms.
1. Nature of the service
Trailworld is an information-sharing platform between users. The platform allows users to publish, browse, comment on and share GPX files, routes, ride reports, photos and related content.
Trailworld provides a hosting, organization and distribution service for information. Trailworld does not guarantee the accuracy, legality, accessibility, safety or suitability of any route or user-published content.
2. User account
You are responsible for your account, your credentials, and all activity carried out through your account.
You must provide accurate information and keep your access secure. You may not impersonate another person or create an account fraudulently.
Trailworld may suspend, restrict or remove an account in cases of abuse, fraud, breach of these terms, or risk to the platform or its users.
3. User-published content
You remain responsible for the content you publish on Trailworld, including GPX files, ride reports, comments, photos, titles, descriptions, metadata, location information and any related content.
By publishing content on Trailworld, you represent and warrant that you:
- have the rights, permissions and authorizations necessary to publish it;
- are not violating any third-party rights, including copyright, property, privacy or contractual rights;
- have taken reasonable steps to verify that a published route does not unlawfully cross private roads, restricted areas, prohibited access points, or any route whose use is forbidden or unauthorized;
- are not knowingly publishing false, misleading, dangerous or unlawful content, or content intended to bypass access restrictions.
These obligations apply to GPX files, ride reports, comments, photos and similar content.
4. Trailworld's use and reuse of content
By publishing content on Trailworld, you understand and agree that Trailworld may retain, use, reproduce, display, adapt and reuse that content, including after its initial publication, in connection with its activities, operation of the platform, and continued evolution of the service.
This authorization applies in particular to GPX files, ride reports, comments, photos and associated metadata that you submit to the platform.
You grant Trailworld the right to host, store, back up, index, process, display, distribute, technically modify, republish, extract, reorganize and use that content as part of the operation, maintenance, promotion, moderation, improvement, development and evolution of the service.
Trailworld does not acquire general legal ownership of your content, but you grant Trailworld the rights of use and reuse necessary to operate the platform and continue its activities related to that content.
5. Visibility and sharing
Depending on the settings you choose, your content may be visible publicly, privately, or within a group context.
You understand that publicly shared content may be viewed, cited, discussed, captured, referenced or redistributed by other users or third parties. Trailworld is not responsible for how third parties use content that you have made public.
6. Acceptable use rules
You may not use Trailworld to:
- publish unlawful, fraudulent, defamatory, threatening or harassing content;
- distribute routes obtained or published in violation of property rights or access restrictions;
- compromise the security of the platform;
- send spam, abuse automation, or bypass technical limits;
- publish content that infringes copyright, trademarks, or the privacy of others;
- knowingly publish clearly dangerous or intentionally misleading content.
7. Route and safety disclaimer
Routes, GPX files, ride reports and information published on Trailworld are provided for informational purposes only.
Trail conditions, weather, road or trail status, legal restrictions, private access rules, seasonal closures, construction, local prohibitions and actual on-the-ground risks may change at any time.
You are solely responsible for verifying, before using any content:
- the legality of your passage;
- the real-world accessibility of the route;
- safety conditions;
- whether the route is appropriate for your skill level, equipment and vehicle.
Trailworld assumes no responsibility for injuries, damage, fines, losses, access conflicts, mechanical incidents or any other consequences arising from the use of content published on the platform.
8. Moderation, removal and complaints
Trailworld may, at its sole discretion, remove, hide, unpublish, restrict or delete any content, account or access that violates these terms, presents a risk, is the subject of a credible complaint, or raises legal, safety or moderation concerns.
Any complaint, takedown request, abuse report, private-access complaint, or claim related to content may be sent to:
Trailworld may act without prior notice when it considers such action necessary to protect the platform, its users or third parties.
9. Service availability
Trailworld is provided as is. We may modify, suspend, limit or discontinue any feature, content, part of the service, or access to the platform, temporarily or permanently, with or without notice.
We do not guarantee that the service will always be available, error-free, or that any content will remain accessible indefinitely.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Trailworld, its operators, administrators, representatives and contributors are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages arising from use of the service, inability to use the service, or reliance on content published on the platform.
You use Trailworld at your own risk.
11. Privacy
Use of Trailworld is also governed by our Privacy Policy.
12. Changes
We may update these Terms of Service at any time. The most recent version published on this page applies.
By continuing to use Trailworld after an update, you accept the revised terms.
